Table and Other Care

Table Care

  • Clean with a soft clean cloth
  • Protect surface when placing hot items onto the surface
  • Avoid spilling nail polish remover, solvent or alcohol as this may stain the surface

Refers to Elm, Eva and Star tables

The timber used in the Star table is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified and sourced from controlled, responsibly managed forests.

The timber used in the Elm and Eva table is made from recycled and reclaimed timber from old houses. These timbers come naturally with cracks and uneven joins, adding character and uniqueness to each table. These knots and joins form part of the appearance of the furniture and do not affect performance.

Changes in temperature and humidity can affect timber furniture which may expand and contract. Avoid exposing the furniture to excessive heat and moisture. Direct sunlight will cause timber colours to fade. A minimum distance of 50cm from any heat source is recommended. Avoid placing hot drinks directly onto timber surfaces—a coaster is recommended.

A damp cloth can be used to wipe surface spills—and remove any spills in a timely manner. Do not use harsh chemicals to clean—a soft cloth and soft wax or suitable timber polish can be used to maintain lustre and appearance

To keep your Stanfield table looking its best, here are some useful care and maintenance tips you should follow:

  • A damp cloth can be used to wipe surface spills.
  • Coloured liquids such as tea, coffee, coke, juice, ink etc should not contact the stone directly. A drink coaster is recommended.
  • Remove stains in a timely manner. An appropriate natural stone cleaner can be used.
  • Oil based products such as vegetable oil, machine oil and rust may leave permanent marks if direct contact is made with the stone.
  • Do not use acid cleaner or alkaline cleaner on the stone.
  • Do not drag sharp and heavy objects directly over the stone.
  • Surface scratches can be removed with 600 grade wet sandpaper and finishing with soft wax.
  • To maintain luster, apply a soft wax to enhance patina and water resistance.
